Formed on 15th November 2000, Jharkhand is rich in minerals, forests, and tribal heritage.With Ranchi as its capital, the state spans over 79,000 sq. km and comprises 24 districts.Home to diverse tribes like Santhal, Munda, and Ho, it has nearly 29% forest cover and isa major contributor to India’s mineral output. Agriculture, handicrafts, and forest produceform the backbone of rural livelihoods, while the cooperative sector plays a key role inempowering communities and promoting inclusive development.

  • Historic Church Society (Founded 1907)

    Established during British colonial rule, this Church Society has served Jharkhand for over 115 years, evolving from a missionary outpost into a vibrant community hub.

  • Living Legacy of Faith & Service

    Recognized as part of Jharkhand’s ‘Living Legacy,’ it runs schools, healthcare initiatives, and preserves tribal-Christian heritage while maintaining its original Gothic-era church building and mission of social upliftment.

Co-operative Movement & Rural Development

The Co-operative movement in India was initiated primarily to addressthe challenges of rural credit and agricultural financing. In Jharkhand,the movement began with the registration and organization of RuralAgricultural Credit Co-operative Societies following the enactmentof the Co-operative Societies Act of 1904.

Since its inception, the co-operative sector has played a vital rolein strengthening rural economies, empowering farmers, and promotingfinancial inclusion across the state. It continues to serve as acornerstone for community-based development and sustainable growth.
